Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

In 2024, KYMC joined E Ink Holdings' initiative along with 21 suppliers to donate e-readers (electronic paper reading devices) to 40 elementary schools in Yunlin, Taiwan. A total of 1,024 e-readers were donated, each containing 108 educational content. This initiative benefited over 15,000 students in Yunlin.

The purpose of this initiative is to provide students with a device that enables them to acquire knowledge in a more environmentally friendly way. Traditionally, producing physical books requires significant paper consumption. An e-reader with digitalized content can help save large amounts of paper, which in turn saves space, reduces energy consumption and lowers carbon emissions. Another purpose of giving out e-readers is to deliver electronic content while minimizing distractions. For instance, e-readers eliminate the interruptions caused by devices, such as mobile phones, pads, and computers, which often provide unrelated entertainment content.

KYMC believes more students will benefit from e-readers, thus educating our future generation while considering environmental sustainability. KYMC will continue to give back to society and participate in meaningful initiatives like this.

Supporting Sustainable Development

Sustainable development is at the core of KYMC. The company was one of the pioneers in focusing on the flexographic press, which is a more environmentally friendly printing method when compared to traditional techniques, such as gravure and offset printings. KYMC is also one of the forerunners in delivering water-based printing, coating, and lamination machines, replacing solvent-based solutions with water-based alternatives that significantly reduce VOC emissions. Furthermore, KYMC designs energy-efficient drying mechanisms in the production process to help conserve energy. KYMC advocates for promoting a more sustainable production process across industries such as packaging printing, paper cups, medical packaging, and flexible electronic industries.
